"Don Francisco", Peruvian Medicine Man Weekend Event

This Event has already taken place (November 5-7, 2010)

Don Francisco comes to us from the Andes of Peru, bringing the medicine traditions of the high-mountain shaman. For the past 20 years, Don Francisco has been encouraging the growth of others by energizing our luminous fields, calling in alignment of our heart, mind, and way in the world, and deepening our personal medicine through shamanic tools. It has been his life purpose to share the gifts of the Andes with the world,
and his mastery has been in service of this vision on several continents.

The community blessing was held on Friday night at Knightsen Elementary School, with a despacho being made with all attendees. A despacho is a prayer bundle which contains many items from nature, such as leaves, flowers, dried corn, etc. Everyone at the despacho creation ceremony is invited to participate by blowing their prayers into a set of 'kintus' (a set of 3 bay leaves) which are all placed in the despacho. Once the despacho is completed, it is burned in a fire ceremony which releases all the prayers into the universe. Saturday and Sunday brought out students of all ages, gender and personalities to attend workshops facilitated by Dani Burling of Your Sacred Destiny, and Kinlen & Wake Wheeler of Sacred Pathways. Don Francisco blessed the shaman students and their Mesa bundles several times over the weekend, as well as giving them each the Daykeeper's Rite (of the Munay Ki Rites).
