Drumming Circles

African and Asian cultures have been practicing community percussion for thousands of years. Americans are now embracing this practice by taking up drumming in astounding numbers. Drumming circles are springing up, oriented not toward performance and musical virtuosity, but toward personal transformation, consciousness expansion, and community building. Anyone can join in and explore rhythms with hands or drumsticks as an exhilarating way of communing. 

Recent medical research studies indicate that drumming circles can boost the immune system. The study demonstrates that group drumming actually increases cancer-killing cells, which help the body combat cancer as well as other viruses, including AIDS. According to the study, group drumming tunes our biology, orchestrates our immunity, and enables healing to begin. Other studies have demonstrated the calming, focusing, and healing effects of group drumming on Alzheimer's patients, autistic children, emotionally disturbed teens, substance abusers, trauma patients, and prison and homeless populations. The primitive drumming circle is emerging as a significant therapeutic tool in the modern technological age.

Here at Your Sacred Destiny, we take you on a Shamanic
Drumming Journey. You will be led by shaman, Dani Burling,
on one or more journeys (a type of meditation) while our
drummer beats a sacred drum in community and oneness with all life. After the drumming journey(s), we will hold a sacred
ceremony of fire. The ceremony is passed down by the lineage
of healers, as you take to the fire that which you wish to release and receive the transformational gift from the fire.                                                                                                                        

Our Drumming Journey events are typically outside, amongst nature (weather permitting).  Participants should bring their own chair or blanket. Although not required, bringing your own drum is encouraged!

If you are interested in scheduling a drumming event, call me to discuss it. Typically, we like to charge an attendance fee of $15 per person. Ceremonial items will usually be available for purchase at these events, including: Peruvian rattles, sage bundles, palo santo wood, shells, all types of crystals, and energy field balancers. These items are available for purchase at all times from our online Shamanic Store.
